  • Teams are entitled to one timeout per period (1 minute), and the halftime break is 5 minutes.

Matches

In the Elite Winter Cup, a group stage is first played with 4 teams in each group.

  • Positions 1 & 2 advance to the semi-finals, while positions 3 & 4 play placement matches against the team that finished in the same position in the other group.

For example, if your team finishes in positions 1 or 2 in the group, you will play a semi-final and possibly a final. If your team finishes in 3rd place in group A, you will face the 3rd place team from group B to compete for 5th & 6th place. If your team finishes in 4th place in group A, you will face the 4th place team from group B to compete for 7th & 8th place.

  • This means all teams are guaranteed at least 4 games, and if you reach the final, you will play a total of 5 games.

Protests

Protests must be submitted in writing to the tournament office no later than 30 minutes after the end of the match. A protest fee of 500 SEK must be paid at the same time. The fee will be refunded if the protest is approved. The decision of the tournament jury is final and cannot be appealed.

Otherwise, FIBA rules apply.

Walkover (WO)

All matches in the tournament must be played, even if you find yourself in a situation where you have to face a team from your own club. If a team refuses to play, a WO fee of 3,000 SEK will be charged.
